Argo Canada – Ocean Climate Monitoring

Argo is the world's largest ocean climate monitoring system. More than 4,000 floats drift through the ocean collecting real-time data on temperature and salinity. This information helps scientists study climate change, improve weather forecasts, and build better ocean models. Fisheries and Oceans Canada has launched more than 400 Argo floats since 2001. Data from the floats is free and open to everyone.
